Binance now adjusts for color vision deficient users, including a new palette for charts, candles, and more.
Most color vision deficiencies involve red and green—the two most important colors in the trade.
To date, most features of the Binance app have only been accessible to users with normal color vision.
We’re excited to share the details behind the new palette for color vision-impaired users.
For users with color vision deficiencies, Binance currently has tweaks, including new color palettes for charts, candles, and more.
According to the National Eye Institute, about 8 percent of men and 0.5 percent of women are color vision deficient. That’s about 300 million people.
In terms of vision, there are several types of color blindness. However, research shows that most flaws involve shades of red and green, which also happen to be the two most important colors in any transaction interface.

Is it red or green now? Challenges of the Color Vision Deficit Trading
In any form of trading, from stocks to cryptocurrencies and foreign exchange, red and green take up most of the screen. Red indicates price drops, while green indicates price increases during the selected period. These two colors are also crucial for viewing price trends and visualizing the profit and loss of a portfolio. They provide the basis for a trader’s key decisions every day.
The above two examples are the most common color vision defects. Both belong to the category of red-green sensory deficits. Deuteronomy refers to a defect in the green cones, while proteophthalmia refers to a defect in the red cones.
In contrast, people with “normal” color vision have fully functional cone cells that correctly recognize red, green and blue.
Inability to read charts accurately can lead to costly mistakes. For example, a trader with color vision deficiencies may mistakenly identify a set of candles as a bullish move, resulting in the wrong timing of a trade. The cryptocurrency market moves extremely fast, and it works 24 hours a day. Even if it only stops you for a few seconds, such a hindrance can be a huge disadvantage.
A color for everyone
To ensure that everyone can fully enjoy the Binance experience, Binance is pleased to announce that the Binance app and web version support color vision defects. Users can open the style settings to choose from three color palettes: trendy, traditional, and color vision flawed.
In the past, all Binance features, charts and candlesticks were only accessible to users with normal color vision. All Binance users can now replace the existing red and green with a more appropriate blue/orange color palette. Green will now appear as blue in the palette, while red will appear as orange.
For Binance Network users, you’ll notice that only the “Markets” and “Trades” sections have color-friendly palettes. Next, Binance’ll add support for color vision defects for the remaining pages.
