About Market Disruption Event (MDE)
When an exchange included in a price index ceases to function, BitMEX may declare a market disruption event and notify users (in accordance with the “early settlement” procedure detailed below) of what changes will be made to the settlement or expiry dates of the affected contracts.
Traders will be notified via email announcements and announcements of market disruption events will appear primarily on the trading panel.
BitMEX will fully consider and decide on the announcement of the market disruption event, and all decisions will be final.
BitMEX may decide to settle futures or perpetual swap contracts early due to market disruption events or other events or reasons, including but not limited to regulatory considerations for any underlying currency and/or the intent to ensure market order.
