For trading platforms, security is always the most important part. In order to continuously improve the security level, the Binance team is carrying out major security upgrades and adjustments. Biannce is also working with top international security teams, blockchain companies, and data analysis companies.
At the same time, Biannce is also making major adjustments to the API, 2FA (two-factor authentication) and withdrawal verification process, and strives to build the strongest security barrier for users.
Regarding the security of user accounts, Biannce hopes that you can work with Binance to develop a good habit of focusing on security, continuously improve your security awareness, and reduce the possibility of security incidents. Below are a few security methods we have summarized, Biannce strongly recommends that you read them carefully and follow the steps below to keep your assets safe.
Go to Binance’s Official Website
1. Regularly change the account password and bind an independent email address
We strongly recommend that you set a more complex account password and bind a separate email address. Ensure the uniqueness of the password and change the password regularly. Remember not to share the password with others. We also recommend that you choose a professional password manager, such as LastPass, KeePass, etc.
2. Always turn on two-factor verification
For users who have not turned on two-factor authentication, we strongly recommend that you bind Google Authenticator for two-factor authentication; for users who have bound Google Authenticator, we recommend that you reset it regularly. In addition, do not turn on SMS verification and Google Authenticator at the same time.
3. Regularly modify the anti-phishing code
Every time you read an email, make sure that the anti-phishing code information contained in the email is correct, and click to learn what an anti-phishing code is;
4. Check the withdrawal whitelist and common device information to prevent information from being tampered with
It is recommended to regularly check the withdrawal whitelist and common device information. It is best to log in with a fixed device and delete redundant device information.
Proceed as follows:
- Log in to the Binance web version, click “User Center”, slide the mouse to the bottom of the page, and find the “Withdrawal Address Management” and “Device Management” options; mobile users log in to the APP, click “My”, and then click “Security”, Find the “Device Management” option.
- In the “Withdrawal Address Management” option, delete suspicious addresses; in the “Device Management” option, delete suspicious devices or redundant device information.
5. Regularly modify the email password, such as the Binance registered email
It is strongly recommended to set a more complex password and ensure the uniqueness of the password. It is recommended to choose an email provider with encryption function. Be careful not to click any links and attachments in the email at will.
6. Keep your computer/mobile phone safe
It is recommended to use a dedicated computer with only Linux, Chrome browser, and password manager plug-ins installed. Choose a trusted antivirus like Bitdefender Endpoint Security Tools, keep it updated and scan your computer regularly. Remember not to download unsafe files or open unfamiliar emails. Users who use mobile APPs are recommended to download APPs from official channels, and do not download and install APPs from unknown sources. Encrypt the mobile phone, such as turning on the mobile phone password lock.
In addition, it is recommended to manually collect frequently used URLs, and confirm whether the URL is spelled correctly each time you log in.
For example, before logging in to Binance, confirm that the domain name is Binance.com (the Chinese website domain name Binance.co) . Do not open URLs sent by others at will, and do not open unfamiliar websites. If you cannot confirm whether the web address is safe, it is recommended to open the browser in incognito mode.
7. Use a secure network
Use a wired network as much as possible. If you must use WiFi, it is recommended to turn on VPN. Do not use public WiFi and public VPN;
8. It is recommended that API users rebuild the API and bind a fixed IP address
Do not bind any third-party escrow tool, do not disclose the key, and change the key regularly;
9. Visit Binance Academy to learn more about cryptocurrency security
Binance Academy has published dozens of security-related articles and videos, and you are advised to read them all with patience.
Currently, Biannce is launching U2F security measures to support YubiKey devices, which will be launched in the near future and will greatly improve the level of account security. Compared with other two-factor authentication schemes (Google Authenticator, Authy, SMS verification code, etc.), U2F does not need to install plug-ins, and can be used with a tap of the device button.
In addition, it should be noted that phishing is pervasive and full of tricks, and you should always pay attention to the risks. You can read ” Binance teaches you how to prevent phishing attacks ” for anti-phishing strategies.
At the same time, it is recommended that everyone participate in the anti-phishing test of Binance Academy to learn about phishing traps and enhance security awareness.
