Why you didn’t pass Kriptomat’s verification?

You can repeat and try the verification more times by logging into your account. Read below to learn the most common reasons why verification fails, and try to avoid them.

Before checking the most common reasons, make sure that:

  • You are over 18 years of age
  • You are a citizen of one of the supported countries
  • They use a supported document (DNI or passport) and a document that is not expired, damaged or illegible

The most common reasons why document review fails are:

  • Wrong document type – make sure you are uploading and taking photos of a supported document and the type you have previously selected (supported documents: Passport and ID).
  • Your document has expired – make sure the document is valid.
  • Poor image quality – make sure the entire document is visible and legible, there are no reflections in the photo.
  • Document – make sure the document is not damaged and has your signature.
  • Photo or Screenshot or Edited – Please make sure that the photo you have uploaded has not been edited with image processing software (Photoshop, etc) and is not a photo of a photo.
  • Black and white photo – please make sure the photo is in color.
  • File not supported – Kriptomat accepts jpg, jpeg, png and pdf files

The most common reasons for authentication verification failures are:

  • You have glasses – please remove your sunglasses when doing the life check. Regular glasses should be fine if you wear them on the document photo as well.
  • There are other people in the photo – please make sure that only you are in the photo.
  • Webcam issues – If you’re having webcam or video issues, use a different phone, tablet, or similar device.
  • Connection issues – you need to have an internet connection throughout the process. When the internet connection fails, try another connection, maybe the smartphone one or some other WIFI.
  • You did not allow browser access to the camera – Your Internet browser may ask you to allow Kriptomat’s system to access your webcam. It is mandatory that you allow this
