BINANCE TO DONATE US$10 MILLION TO UKRAINE HUMANITARIAN EFFORT

Donation by Binance Charity Foundation to Ukraine

Binance Launches Crypto Crowdfunding Site for Ukrainian Humanitarian Aid Operation.

Binance, the world’s leading provider of crypto assets and blockchain infrastructure, announced that it will provide at least $10 million in humanitarian crisis assistance to Ukraine through the Binance Charity Foundation.

The aid funds will be paid to large international non-profit organizations such as UNICEF, UNHCR, and People in Need that have entered Ukraine to help residents who cannot leave the area and those who have lost their homes.

In addition, Binance has also set up a crypto asset crowdfunding website Ukraine Emergency Relief Fund to accept crypto asset donations, provide emergency aid funds for refugees and children, and provide support for the transportation of local food, fuel, daily necessities and other materials.

Currently, Binance has donated 16,042 BNB (about $6 million) to the site.

Binance founder and CEO CZ said: “The recent conflict has touched the hearts of the entire Binance community. We are very proud of how quickly we have mobilized the resources of the entire network to provide local aid and support. Ukrainian residents provided food, fuel, daily necessities, shelter, etc.”

In addition, Binance is currently assisting in opening up access for local refugees to safe areas in two neighboring countries.

Binance Charity and UNICEF Luxembourg have maintained long-term cooperation, provided assistance after the Beirut explosion, and jointly promoted the global vaccine distribution after the outbreak of the new crown epidemic.

This latest aid from Binance Charity will be used to protect the rights of 7.5 million Ukrainian children, purchasing medical supplies, providing safe drinking water, social security, emergency educational resources, and more.

As the conflict continues to intensify, the need for Ukrainian families and children will only increase.

UNHCR is an international agency dedicated to helping people displaced by force majeure.

As early as 2014, UNHCR has been stationed in Ukraine and has carried out operations in 6 regions.

Together with UNHCR, Binance will provide emergency assistance such as food, water, medical supplies, and improve living conditions in temporary shelters.

People in Need is a non-government, not-for-profit organization that sends experts to support refugees affected by war.

The agency, which operates in Slovakia, provides refugees with another important route to escape the fighting.

PIN’s sister agency in Ukraine will also reopen medical and food supply centers to assist people who cannot leave the country.

Founded in 2018, Binance Philanthropy has donated a total of $10 million to date.

These funds are used to provide global disaster relief and help solve complex social and environmental problems.
