Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, will allow its residents to pay property taxes on crypto assets starting in 2023, according to a decree issued this week in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The mayor of the city, Eduardo Pae, asked relevant virtual asset service providers to apply, and said that while residents will use cryptocurrency assets to pay, the city will only receive fiat currency and converting cryptocurrency assets will not incur any additional costs to taxpayers.
