What is ERC-20 token? Is it a Cryptocurrency?

There is a number of Cryptocurrencies which are categorized as ‘ERC-20 tokens’.

ERC-20 tokens are used and managed on the Ethereum platform.

For Cryptocurrencies to be the ERC-20 tokens, they must follow a list of standards so that they can be shared, exchanged for other tokens on the platform.

What is good about ERC-20?

Each Cryptocurrency platform and blockchain do not interact, unless they use the same code and programming language.

ERC-20 has created a universal standard, so different digital-currencies can be put on an exchange or transferred to a wallet automatically.

Ethereum’s ERC-20 makes transactions within the Cryptocurrency market more simple.
