Cyprus CySEC

CYSEC stands for Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission. It is the financial regulatory agency in Cyprus that is responsible for regulating and supervising the financial markets in the country. CYSEC was established in 2001 under the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission Law and operates as an independent public supervisory authority. The commission’s mission is to ensure investor protection, promote transparency and fairness in the financial markets, and contribute to the stability of the financial system in Cyprus. To achieve its objectives, CYSEC regulates and supervises entities operating in the financial markets, including investment firms, market operators, and investment funds. It also sets regulatory policies and standards, monitors compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and takes enforcement actions against non-compliant entities. Additionally, CYSEC cooperates with other regulatory authorities in Cyprus and internationally to enhance the effectiveness of its regulatory oversight and promote a level playing field for financial market participants.
